At NCPower, the manufacturing of lithium batteries for electric mobility is a commitment to the technical quality and safety of our Partners. For fleet managers and managers, security and legal compliance are the keys that guarantee the profitability and integrity of their assets.

To achieve this level, we follow a systemic protocol designed to satisfy security requirements, ensuring that each asset is a benchmark in reliability and complies with the relevant legal compliances, offering a guarantee of maximum security.

1. Definition of the Operational and Regulatory Scenario

The first step is the analysis of the use environment. It is essential to understand that the regulatory framework varies significantly depending on the marketing region, whether it is the European Union, the United States or other international markets. In this phase, we contextualize the battery within its mobility application, allowing us to map out a specific legal roadmap to make the product fully compliant at its destination.

2. Breakdown of the Applicable Regulatory Framework in Europe

To market a safe battery on European soil, we apply a multidisciplinary ecosystem of laws aimed at protecting users and the environment:

  • Electrical Safety (Directive 2014/35/EU): This directive ensures that the equipment provides a high level of protection for the health and safety of people and property. It requires that the design avoid risks derived from temperatures, electric arcs or shocks.
  • Electromagnetic Compatibility (Directive 2014/30/EU): Ensures that the battery electronics (BMS) does not generate interference that affects the vehicle and, in turn, is immune to external disturbances.
  • Transportation Security UN 38.3: It constitutes the mandatory international regulatory framework established by the United Nations. Its compliance is an essential condition for global logistics distribution, guaranteeing that batteries can be transported without risk of fire or explosion.
  • Sustainability and Circular Economy (EU Regulation 2023/1542): This directly applicable regulation requires durability, recyclability and the implementation of the Battery Passport for total digital traceability of the life cycle. (If you want to know more about the Battery Passport, we have an article where we explain everything about this new regulation: https://ncpower.es/guia-reglamento-ue-battery-passport/ )
  • Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS Directive): Limits the use of harmful chemicals in electronic components to protect human health and the environment.

3. Validation through Rigorous TestsAt NCPower, we understand that compliance is not only a declaration of intent, but a reality that must be demonstrable through tests in accredited laboratories and high-precision internal verification protocols.

  • Transportation Safety (UN 38.3): We carry out the 8 critical tests defined by the UN to validate mechanical and thermal robustness: Altitude simulation (T1), Thermal test (T2), Vibration (T3), Mechanical shock (T4), External short circuit (T5), Impact/Crushing (T6), Overload (T7) and Forced discharge (T8).
  • Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC): Under the EN 61000 series, we break down the evaluation according to the operating environment: for residential, commercial and light industrial environments we apply the standards EN 61000-6-1 (immunity) and EN 61000-6-3 (emission); while for industrial environments we are governed by EN 61000-6-2 (immunity) and EN 61000-6-4 (emission).
  • Electrical and Functional Safety: We take as reference the EN 62619 standard, which derives directly from the prestigious international standard IEC 62619. This regulation constitutes the most recognized global reference standard for the evaluation of safety in industrial lithium batteries, verifying the thermal stability and the response of the system to critical failures.

It is important to highlight that the use of these harmonized standards, published in the Official Journal of the European Union, gives us the presumption of conformity with the safety objectives of the applicable directives, providing a solid legal and technical basis for our products.

4. Our Quality Philosophy: The DNA of NCPower

Passing these tests is the result of our "Made in NCPower" work methodology, structured in five strategic axes:

A) The NCPower System. It is a comprehensive control, safety and optimization architecture specifically designed to overcome the limitations of conventional battery management systems (BMS). This eliminates thermal stress on the electronics and allows intelligent external balancing (both loading and unloading), maximizing the durability, efficiency and safety of the pack.

B) ISO 9001 Quality Management System. All of our operations are protected by a system certified by Bureau Veritas under the ISO 9001 standard. We guarantee that each process, from design to support, follows international standards for continuous improvement.

C) Internal Procedures and Risk Management. We apply a risk analysis methodology (probability vs. severity). We identify electrical, thermal and mechanical hazards at each phase to implement mitigation measures before manufacturing.D) Homologation of Suppliers and Raw Materials. We only integrate certified LiFePO4 cells from qualified manufacturers. We carry out an exhaustive technical documentary verification to ensure the traceability and quality of each component.

E) Highly Qualified Technical Personnel. Our team has specialized training in chemical safety and international regulations. Ongoing training ensures assembly and programming are executed with surgical precision.

5. Legal Security and Technical Excellence in Each Delivery

Our impeccable quality and safety methodology leads to the Technical Quality File, an exclusive document for each model that acts as the definitive seal of conformity. This file is the physical evidence that we deliver to our Partners to guarantee that their investment meets all the safety, quality and sustainability requirements demanded by the European Union.

At NCPower, our mission goes beyond simply providing power. We offer managers and fleet managers the certainty of having a technically superior asset, designed to protect their profitability and operate without risk. We're not just trying to deliver a battery, we're trying to deliver a high quality product that our Partners can trust.
