What is NCPower and what does it do?

NCPOWER is a Spanish manufacturer of Sustainable Lithium-ion batteries with Innovative and Customised Technology. It designs, develops and manufactures advanced lithium-ion energy storage solutions for electromobility in a wide variety of markets: Light Commercial Electric Vehicles, Electric Utility Vehicles, Industrial Machinery and Energy Storage. It has a consolidated international presence and continues its expansion process, with a presence on 3 continents.

  • Are your products sold to small consumers or are they focused on businesses, and could you mention some brands that already work with your batteries?

We are targeting a B2B industrial customer. Our target audience is manufacturers of electric vehicles, specifically light commercial vehicles for low-intensity goods transport (pick-up trucks, vans, etc.) and utility vehicles designed to move over all types of terrain.

NCPOWER supplies customised LiFePO4 lithium batteries to leading commercial vehicle manufacturers. For example, we supply batteries for the world's No. 1 manufacturer of this type of vehicle.

Batteries seem to be the future not only of mobility, but also an essential element for the storage of energy from renewable sources. Why is it a strategic sector, beyond these questions?

The market for lithium-ion batteries was estimated at €57 billion in 2020 and the forecast for the 2030 horizon is $430 billion. It is clearly a technology and a bet on the future.

The main component of these batteries is lithium and there is solid and proven scientific evidence of the preferential qualities of this material in terms of electrochemical potential, energy density, power density and battery life. Furthermore, at NCPOWER we work with LifePo4 lithium, the safest and most stable chemistry on the market. It has a life of more than 10 years and up to 5,000 recharge cycles without maintenance.

From a technological point of view, its advantages are clear. In addition to their performance and high capacities, there is their high security and an element of great relevance for us such as the sustainability.

Lithium has become highly relevant in the context of the transition towards a greener and more sustainable economy. As a key element in lithium-ion batteries, lithium has revolutionised the electric mobility and energy storage sector by providing a cleaner and more efficient alternative to fossil fuels.

NCPOWER is positioned as a benchmark in the development and manufacture of high quality, high performance lithium batteries with increased durability and reduced waste.

Our commitment to the circular economy and the green economy positions us as a strategic partner in building a cleaner and more efficient future.

  • NCPOWER is a Spanish company, do you develop and manufacture your products in Spain, and where does the country stand with respect to such a strategic industry?

Yes, we are manufacturers. At NCPOWER we design and manufacture lithium batteries in Spain. We carry out the entire manufacturing process with our own battery management technology (BMS). We provide our experience, knowledge and high quality components to manufacture the most profitable, efficient and safe sustainable batteries in the Spanish market.

With such an emerging market, hundreds of manufacturers are appearing, who are really suppliers, i.e. they buy batteries and sell them in Spain and Europe without any support or guarantee. And most importantly: without the integration of their components, so they cannot guarantee the viability and safety of the battery.

This is a big difference We actually carry out the whole process and in this sense we can bring our experience, knowledge and quality to NCPOWER.

We have recently achieved the certification of our production process and the type approval R100.02a hallmark of security and trust.

There is still a long way to go. Spain, despite being a global benchmark in the motor industry (the automotive industry accounts for 10% of Spanish GDP and 9% of employment), our country has barely taken steps in a strategic niche for new mobility and which will move, in Europe alone, 250,000 million a year from 2025, with a market share of only 3%, while Asia accounts for 85%.

However, there is less and less doubt that we are set to lead the future of mobility in the medium and long term. Thanks to the environmental commitments set by the European Commission and national governments themselves.

Europe is taking measures and approving State aid to reconvert the battery market as a key element for the competitiveness and industrial leadership of the European Union.

  • Have you found it difficult to set up NC Power in Spain, and how could the country be encouraged to attract foreign investment in this sector and also encourage new local projects such as NC Power?

In my case, the experience and know-how acquired in the manufacture of electric vehicles as well as in their support and guarantee has made my work much easier at the functional and operational level. However, at the bureaucratic level, there are numerous obstacles we face when applying for permits to start up battery manufacturing projects.

Spain has made progress in the area of business creation. However, if we compare Spain with other EU countries, there is still a long way to go to improve bureaucratic procedures, company registration, taxes, etc.

_

The future is electric and there are currently endless business opportunities in this sector, as we are talking about a sector with exponential growth and where it is necessary to create companies that feed the entire value chain, from mining and extraction of raw materials to the recycling or second life of the batteries.

Success in the race to implement the electric car is closely linked to investment in the construction of battery factories, as evidenced by the efforts of all countries, with the US leading the way, to attract the projects of the major automobile firms.

The Spanish economy has several advantages to become an attractive destination for battery manufacturing. The first of these is its muscle and experience as a vehicle producer, which makes us a favourable environment for attracting large foreign investors, as has already happened in Sagunto with the Volkswagen group.

Governments should work to improve the rules of the sector, giving predictability and speed to the processes. Some of the key drivers of market attractiveness would include policy and regulatory support, facilitating industrial permits, aid and financing mechanisms, such as financial incentives to accelerate investments in Spain; among others.

  • Where is the battery industry and market heading?

The transition to electric vehicles is a global phenomenon that is here to stay. With the advent of increasingly affordable models, traditional combustion engine vehicles will soon be history.

The adoption of electric vehicles is on the rise globally due to factors such as lower battery prices and investment in batteries by large automotive companies.

The battery market for these vehicles is estimated to be worth $175.11 billion by 2028. Europe is set to be the growth leader, with Asia-Pacific, led by China, leading in sales and production.

_

The trend and progress in the battery market goes hand in hand with the technology used in the manufacture of batteries: batteries with longer life, greater power and autonomy, and fast charging, among other factors such as weight and dimensions.

  • What will happen if electric mobility does not become the standard in the end? Is there an alternative?

From where we are today, it is clear that we are heading in the right direction, but there are still challenges to overcome. The main challenge is to offer affordable electric vehicles. Companies are already focused on this, and more affordable options are expected to be launched soon. The exponential growth in electric vehicle sales and the shift away from combustion vehicles is clear evidence of where the market is going.

In Spain, interest in electric mobility has already been recognised as a sustainable alternative. According to a survey by Oliver Wyman, 73% of Spaniards would consider buying an electric vehicle.

In fact, the market share of electric vehicles already exceeds 11.08% of the total market. Cumulatively this year, sales of 100% electric vehicles total 38,091 units, 79% more than in the same period of 2022.

For NCPOWER, the development of more advanced batteries with longer range and lower cost is essential. Lithium-ion batteries can be the solution to deliver that higher performance with shorter charging times, lower costs and improved safety.

Increasing and improving the recharging infrastructure is another key aspect. The Spanish government plays a crucial role in this area, recently accelerating the presentation of the Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation (PERTE).

There is a clear environmental awareness on the part of both administrations and society in general.

Today we have a wide range of vehicle propulsion types at our disposal. Electrification is currently taking the biggest slice of the cake, so we must take advantage of the benefits it offers.

  • Batteries are getting longer and longer, but they are still insufficient to cover long distances, especially in industries such as aviation. When will we see batteries that are as responsive as the fossil fuels currently in use?

There are already projects by major manufacturers such as Tesla and Toyota that promise more than 800 km of range in their vehicles by 2026.

Emerging technologies, such as autonomous vehicles and artificial intelligence, will play a key role in the advancement of electric mobility.

NCPOWER is a relatively young company that has established itself as one of the main references in the market of lithium batteries for electric light commercial vehicles in Spain.

  • What are NC Power's plans for 2024?

We have recently obtained the certification of the production process and the R100.02 approval.and we are already in the process of patenting our own battery management system (BMS) as well as the NCPOWER System itself.

We are already looking ahead to 2024 and some of the challenges ahead:

● To become a benchmark in the Spanish sector, positioned as one of the main suppliers of complete lithium battery solutions.

● The expansion of our production capacity with new facilities.

● Expand our staff of specialist professionals in the different business areas and especially in the engineering departments due to the strong technological links, which will allow us to increase our value proposition and competitive advantage.

● Continue to work on specialising in light commercial vehicles and utility vehicles. And the possible diversification of our solutions to supply the various industrial energy storage markets.

Technology is advancing rapidly and consumer and market demands are constantly changing, so it is important to always be up to date and able to adapt to change. We are pleased that we have been able to overcome the limits offered by traditional electrification. We also keep our eyes on the future and continuous improvement.

Given that NCPOWER is renowned for its customised high-performance lithium batteries, what are the company's most recent innovations in this field and how do they help differentiate its products in the global market?"

NCPOWER focuses its efforts towards sustainable and efficient innovation, providing the market of electric vehicles and industrial machinery with more efficient and durable lithium batteries.

Most companies in the sector present themselves as assemblers in the production of lithium batteries, emphasising their products or their assembly processes. However, NCPOWER is a battery manufacturer with its own technology. Our strong technological linkage (R&D) and the differentiating features of our own battery management system (BMS) and the high customisation of our solutions give us a unique and clearly differentiating advantage.

Among the main innovations currently being developed are the following:

NCPOWER System:  NCPOWER has developed its own technology, the NCPOWER System, a battery management system (BMS) that offers a number of advantages in battery performance, productivity and energy savings, thereby extending the life of the batteries while enabling greater sustainability and energy/economic savings.

NCPOWER Data Center: The aim of the NCPOWER data centre is to collect and store detailed information about the usage and performance of the lithium battery, while monitoring the state of health accurately at any time. Thanks to our monitoring technology, we can continuously track each battery to ensure that it is functioning properly. In addition, this technology allows us to anticipate potential risks, damage, increased power requirements and even future optimisation of battery performance.

We could summarise that our main way of differentiation is our own technology with which we manufacture our batteries and our high specialisation in the customer since all our batteries have been manufactured and customised for each customer according to their technical needs and according to the application of use, whether it is an electric vehicle, industrial machinery or storage and logistics machinery.

How is this growth influencing NCPOWER's strategies and operations, especially in terms of production and international expansion?

Last year we manufactured more than 1,200 batteries for light electric vehicles and our products are already in more than 12 countries and on 3 continents. Our strategic plan for 2024 already includes a clear commitment to the internationalisation of the brand and our technology.

We have recently been admitted to several European associations, including the leading BEPA Association. By joining BEPA, NCPOWER will actively contribute to achieving ambitious goals, including the drive towards climate neutrality in Europe by 2050. The association is focused on leading the battery industry across the entire value chain, from the development of differentiating battery materials technologies to manufacturing and cell design.

In the face of challenges such as the variability of raw material prices and intense competition in the sector, what are the biggest opportunities and challenges NCPOWER foresees for the electric vehicle battery market in the coming years?

The global market for electric vehicle batteries will reach $175 billion by 2028. This exponential growth presents huge opportunities. Europe is expected to be one of the fastest growing regions in the EV market due to the increasing adoption of electric mobility in the region and the commissioning of numerous gigafactories. Europe is projected to account for approximately one-third of global EV battery production capacity by 2030.

The trend and progress in the battery market goes hand in hand with the technology used in the manufacture of batteries: batteries with longer life, greater power and autonomy, and fast charging, among other factors such as weight and dimensions.

On the other hand, the sector also faces a number of challenges such as metal supply constraints affecting the supply chain, scarcity of recharging infrastructure, market uncertainty, sustainability and compliance with safety requirements, among others.

How do NCPOWER's sustainability initiatives fit into the broader context of the decarbonisation of road transport and the COP28 zero emissions target?

Decarbonisation of road transport is one of the objectives of the United Nations, responsible for about 10 % of global greenhouse gas emissions.

The adoption of electric vehicles is experiencing significant growth around the world, and a number of factors are driving this progress. These include the increased use of electric mobility in emerging economies, falling battery prices and increasing investment by major automobile manufacturers in the battery supply chain for their future electric vehicles.

Objective of COP28: All new car and van sales must be zero emission vehicles by 2040. This requires emissions to be reduced by around 45 % by 2030 and to reach net zero by 2050.

In this context of circular economy and green economy, NCPOWER positions itself as a strategic ally in the construction of a cleaner and more efficient future with the development and manufacture of high-tech lithium batteries for electric vehicles.

Lithium batteries offer a higher energy density, allowing for longer range and more efficient performance in the most demanding applications. electric vehicles. In addition, lithium has a longer life cycle compared to other battery technologies, which contributes to increased durability and reduced waste.

NCPOWER, Spanish manufacturer of customised high-performance lithium batteries, highlights this with the end of COP28

NCPOWER, Spanish manufacturer of customised high-performance lithium batteries, highlights this with the end of COP28

The electric vehicle battery market will reach $175.11 billion by 2028 with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 26%, according to data provided by NCPOWER, a Spanish manufacturer of customised high-performance lithium batteries for electric vehicles. The decarbonisation of road transport is one of the objectives of the United Nations, responsible for around 10 % of global greenhouse gas emissions.

The adoption of electric vehicles is experiencing significant growth around the world, and several factors are driving this development. These include, the increase in the use of electric mobility in emerging economies, the reduction in battery prices increasing investment by major car manufacturers in the battery supply chain for its future electric vehicles.

In this context, Europe is expected to be one of the fastest growing regions in the electric vehicle market due to the increasing adoption of electric mobility in the region and the commissioning of numerous gigafactories. Europe is projected to account for approximately one third of global EV battery production capacity by 2030.

The Asia-Pacific region leads the adoption of electric vehicles in terms of sales volume and production. China is the largest EV market in the region and is also the world leader in the manufacture and sale of electric cars. The Chinese government has implemented favourable policies to boost the adoption of electric vehicles.Japan and South Korea are also major players in the electric vehicle market in the Asia-Pacific region, with companies such as Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai and Kia.

In North America, the United States is one of the leaders in the adoption of electric vehicles. Companies such as Tesla have pioneered the development and production of high-end, technologically advanced electric vehicles. In addition, traditional automakers such as General Motors, Ford and Chrysler are also increasing their focus on electric vehicles and plan to launch a number of electric models in the coming years. The US government has also been implementing proactive policies to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles, including tax incentives and charging infrastructure investment programmes.

In Latin America, the adoption of electric vehicles is growing, but still faces challenges, such as the lack of adequate charging infrastructure and the relatively high initial cost of electric vehicles. However, several countries have been implementing policies to encourage them. For example, Colombia has implemented tax exemptions for electric vehicles.

COP28 target: All new car and van sales to be zero-emission vehicles by 2040

NCPOWER wanted to highlight these data on the occasion of the COP28, which has just taken place in Dubai, with the commitment to eliminate fossil fuels.

One of the UN's goals is to reach net zero emissions. Put simply, "net zero" means cutting greenhouse gas emissions to as close to zero as possible, with some residual emissions being reabsorbed in the atmosphere, by the ocean and forests, for example. To keep global warming below 1.5°C, as called for in the Paris Agreementemissions need to be reduced by about 45 % by 2030 and to reach net zero by 2050.

To do this, coal, oil or gas must be replaced by renewable energy sources. And, as we have said, the transport sector is already working on this and this is seen with the growth of the battery market. In addition, more than 30 countries, six major vehicle manufacturers and other actors, such as cities, have expressed their determination that all new car and van sales to be zero-emission vehicles by 2040 internationally and by 2035 in lead marketsemissions, which will accelerate the decarbonisation of road transport, currently responsible for around 10 % of global GHG emissions.

The sustainability has now become a crucial issue that cuts across all industrial and business sectors. Growing concern about climate change and the need to preserve our natural resources has led many companies to re-evaluate their practices and adopt more environmentally responsible approaches.

In this context, NCPOWERa leading company dedicated to the electrification and development of energy solutions, has taken on a new project to develop a strong commitment to sustainability and has made this philosophy the core of its business strategy.

Electrification involves zero emissions and represents an important pathway for the energy transition that many manufacturers are embracing by moving away from polluting fossil fuel sources. For NCPOWER, product design is key in this direction.

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) address a wide range of global challenges, from poverty eradication to climate action to responsible production and consumption. And NCPOWER aligns with these goals through our sustainable products and practices.

The role of lithium towards sustainability

The lithium has acquired great relevance in the context of the transition to a greener and more sustainable economy. As a key element in lithium-ion batteries, this material has revolutionised the electric mobility sector, providing a cleaner and more efficient alternative to fossil fuels.

Lithium batteries offer a higher energy densityThis allows for longer range and more efficient performance in electric utility and commercial vehicles. In addition, lithium has a longer life cycle compared to other battery technologies, contributing to greater durability and reduced waste.

Lithium-ferrophosphate technology (LiFePO4)

We choose Li-Fe-PO4 chemistry, the safest and most stable chemistry on the market, to make our batteries. A LifePo4 battery has a much longer life: more than 4,000 recharge cycles and a low environmental impact. Technologies that last longer need to be replaced less frequently and therefore require fewer natural resources.

A far cry from traditional, polluting lead acid batteries, our batteries are entirely cobalt-free (material with high environmental impact).

An example of NCPOWER's commitment to innovation is the implementation of third generation cells in our latest battery packs. This improvement has enabled a considerable increase in the energy density of the battery packs, resulting in greater energy efficiency and a reduced carbon footprint. By combining these advanced cells with LiFePo4 chemistry, known for its high safety and stability, we have created safer and more environmentally friendly batteries.

BMS: the battery status indicator

Each battery is equipped with a BMS (Battery Management System). In addition to performing cell balancing, which increases battery life, our BMS estimates the state of charge (SOC) and state of health (SOH) of the battery from the battery voltage and current values. This makes battery performance more stable over time, prevents failures and enables self-diagnosis and predictive maintenance.. Ultimately, this translates into a deeper understanding of battery usage and a realistic estimation of battery life.

The recent battery explosion in the Madrid Metro has highlighted the need for a clear focus on lithium battery safety. NCPower shares its safety measures.

In a society increasingly aware of the need for sustainable mobility, lithium-ion batteries play an essential role. However, their use raises safety concerns, as evidenced recently by the incident on Line 2 of the Madrid Metro, in which the battery of an electric scooter exploded, causing a great shock to passengers and disruption to traffic for several hours. Fortunately, no one was injured, although the last carriage was destroyed.

While these events are rare, they are important reminders that battery safety must be a priority. NCPower, a leading Spanish manufacturer of lithium batteries for electric vehicles, is at the forefront of battery safety and clarifies the key aspects of this issue.

The trigger for a thermal runaway

Lithium-ion batteries are an essential power source in a variety of applications, from mobile phones to electric vehicles. Although safe in normal operation, certain conditions can trigger a potentially dangerous thermal runaway. These factors include environmental factors, mechanical factors, electrical overcharge, electrical over-discharge, internal and external short circuits, battery design and manufacture, and battery ageing.

The role of the electrolyte

Electrolyte, a fundamental part of the battery, is a catalyst for conducting electricity. However, it can also be flammable and react violently at high temperatures or a short circuit. Therefore, avoiding overheating is critical.

Charging the batteries

The battery charging process carries specific risks that must be considered. Unlike lead-acid batteries, lithium batteries do not require periodic charging. This means that they can remain inside the equipment during charging, making the process safer and more efficient.

But what is thermal runaway? It is a chain reaction of temperature rise in an overheated battery, which can be dangerous. If not properly controlled, this can result in combustion and possible explosion. To prevent situations that can trigger a thermal runaway, a reliable Battery Management System (BMS) is essential.

The role of BMS in battery safety

A Battery Management System, or BMS, is essential to monitor and prevent situations that can lead to thermal runaway. The BMS acts as the "brain" of the battery, monitoring the status of each cell, balancing charge and discharge and preventing dangerous situations, such as overcharging or deep discharge. In addition, it can disconnect the battery in case of overheating or detect abnormal conditions.

The manufacturer NCPower is an example of how battery safety is addressed. Its batteries are based on LifePo4 chemistry, which is known for its safety and stability. They are also equipped with heating and cooling systems for safe operation in extreme temperatures.

The NCPower control system

NCPower not only manufactures chemically safe batteries, but also implements advanced battery safety technology. Its NCPower System offers real-time remote monitoring to detect any malfunctions and take preventive measures in time. Safety is a priority, and this system ensures optimal performance.

Safety certifications - the additional guarantee

To ensure the safety of its batteries, NCPower seeks safety certifications, such as the R100.2 Certification. This type of certification requires rigorous safety testing to ensure that the batteries meet European standards necessary for safe operation on the road.

In short, lithium battery safety is an issue that involves rigorous control systems, chemical design, monitoring and certifications. Companies like NCPower are leading the way in the quest for safety in the world of electric mobility. Incidents are rare, but safety is essential, and these manufacturers are committed to ensuring the energy that powers the future is safe and reliable.

NCPower, lithium battery experts

- How did the idea of starting NCPower come about?

It all started with an internship at the electric vehicle company in Murcia. ComarthI worked my way up through the ranks to the position of production manager.

Following the demise of this company, I joined DFSK where I continued my research career in research into lithium that will improve performance, charging and discharging times, and the safety of the batteries installed in electric vehicles. All this allowed me to lead a comprehensive project for the electrification of commercial vehicles.

That knowledge and experience, coupled with a passion for electrification, allowed me to embark on my own adventure in 2019. After more than 10 years of experience in the electrification of electric vehicles, a deep knowledge of the lithium battery sector and the different existing national and international markets, NCPower was born.

Our purpose is to offer innovative and competitive solutions within the lithium battery industry. Our main objective is to understand the needs of our customers and develop energy solutions based on state-of-the-art lithium batteries adapted to each customer in a personalised way.

It was always clear to us that we wanted to be a different company, one that would offer something more than what was already on the market.

- And what technological innovations do these lithium batteries incorporate?

NCPower has developed a proprietary technology for the management of lithium batteries: the NCPower System. A battery management system (BMS) that offers a number of advantages in battery performance, productivity and energy savings, thereby extending the life of the batteries while allowing for greater sustainability and energy/economic savings.

On the other hand, NCPower has its own NCPower Data Center. The purpose of the data centre is to collect and store detailed information on the use and performance of the lithium batteries, while monitoring the health status of the batteries accurately at any time.

Thanks to our monitoring technology, we can continuously track each battery to make sure it is working properly. In addition, BMS technology allows us to anticipate potential risks, damage, increased power requirements and even future optimisation of battery performance.

Lithium battery manufacturing process

The lithium battery revolution

- The global market for lithium batteries is experiencing an unprecedented phase of expansion. Why is this happening, will it pass or will it continue over time?

If there is one market on the rise, it is lithium batteries. Its growth is staggering. As the energy transition accelerates, countries and consumers alike are increasingly striving to decarbonise and work towards a low-carbon economy. This means a shift away from fossil fuels towards electrification.

As the inclination for battery technologies in vehicles (passenger and freight) and stationary storage grows significantly, the boom in lithium batteries is greater. This demand projection is in line with a global warming scenario and changes in energy systems.

Electric vehicles will be the most significant contributor to future battery growth, accounting for around 55% of total demand by the end of the decade.

Stationary storage will be the next largest contributor, with a projected demand of over 2.5 TWh in 2030, 29% of the total market.

Lithium batteries will dominate the market this decade. According to the latest data published by the International Energy Agency, the percentage of lithium batteries continues to grow compared to traditional lead batteries, which is already a success in terms of sustainability, environmental protection, etc.

The many benefits of lithium batteries over traditional batteries are a clear reason to stay with lithium for a long time: lithium batteries require no maintenance, allow fast charging, are lighter, have a much higher energy yield in extreme temperatures, do not emit gases and have a service life five times longer than lead-acid batteries.

Lithium batteries, key to the circular economy

The main advantages of safety, durability and capacities have made them the energy source par excellence for electrifying large fleets of vehicles, industrial machinery and as the main source of energy storage.

Batteries are a key part of the transition to the circular economy. With more and more appliances and even renewable energy generation relying on them to operate, it is imperative to develop batteries that are more sustainable, high-performing and safe throughout their life cycle.

They must also be reusable, remanufactured or recycled. In order to innovate in this respect, the European Commission has launched action packages aimed at modernising EU legislation on batteries.

The need to move away from fossil fuels is a reality we all understand. Electric mobility is an answer to the climate crisis and, despite the challenges ahead, progress is promising.

Main challenges

- What are the main challenges in the development and manufacture of batteries for electric vehicles?

The batteries of the electric vehicles must be optimised in terms of safety, durability and performance. The trend and development of the battery market goes hand in hand with the technology used in manufacturing.

At NCPower, as manufacturers of lithium batteries, we take on the challenges and commitments of continuing to optimise our batteries to meet the main requirements and demands of our customers: greater safety, reduced weight, improved performance, longer-lasting batteries with faster charging times, and improvements in the manufacturing process as the main component for improving the useful life and sustainability of the batteries.

Sustainable mobility

- How do you see the future of sustainable mobility: will we reach the dates stipulated by Europe or is it not possible?

We are witnessing a disruptive transformation in the field of mobility worldwide. On the one hand, we have the massive arrival of new technologies in all aspects of mobility, the need to continue on the path of decarbonisation of mobility and, finally, a concentration of population in urban and metropolitan areas with major implications for mobility.

In this sense, public administrations should encourage and promote the most sustainable and healthy means and modes of mobility in urban and metropolitan environments, giving priority to active mobility that includes measures to facilitate personal mobility in situations of functional diversity, collective public transport and high-occupancy mobility schemes.

To achieve this, plans such as that of the European Union, which aims to install at least one million charging points for this type of vehicle by 2030, are essential.

In terms of automotive development, there is a unique opportunity for sustainable mobility. Currently, there is a wealth of funds (Next Generation, Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, the Electric and Connected Vehicle Perte, among others) that are an excellent opportunity to advance and accelerate the sustainable transformation of the sector.

It is important to reinforce public and private investment to reorient the productive model, driving the green transition, decarbonisation, energy efficiency, deployment of renewable energy, electrification of the economy, development of energy storage, circular economy, nature-based solutions and enhancing the resilience of all economic sectors.

The objective is to accelerate the transformation of the sector and it will not be easy to meet the deadlines and agendas set by Europe. The transport sector must be decarbonised in record time and move towards more sustainable cities with an efficient, low-carbon sustainability model.

The future of NCPower

- What are the forecasts for the coming year?

We are in the process of patenting our own battery management system (BMS), as well as the NCPower System itself.

We are satisfied that we have been able to overcome the limits of traditional electrification. We are already looking ahead to 2024 and the challenges ahead:
